About Us

We limit our law firm to representing people in Columbus and throughout Ohio who have suffered serious bodily injuries or the loss of a loved one. Concentrating in these areas has helped us gain cumulative knowledge of the problems that arise when a family member is injured or killed. This knowledge has armed us with insights that have proven extremely valuable to the people we represent.

You are entitled to compensation if you have suffered an injury or the loss of a family member as the result of someone’s negligence. Whether that “someone” is a drunk driver, a hospital or a major corporation, we will use every legal means available to maximize the value of your claim and to obtain money damages for you in the highest possible amount. Over 90% of our clients recover money damages in amounts ranging from modest sums to millions of dollars.

We have represented clients at all levels of the Ohio court system, including the Ohio Supreme Court and Federal Courts.

The Establishment of Our Law Firm

Cecil & Geiser, LLP was formerly known as The Plymale Partnership, LLP until September of 2009. The firm was originally established as Plymale and Associates until 2002.

In 1991 Michael Geiser was hired as an associate. Mike had worked as a clerk for the firm while completing his law degree at The Ohio State University. In May, 1993, Andrew Cecil joined the firm. Andy had been with a local insurance defense firm representing clients such as Nationwide, Allstate, Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) and Walmart, among others.

In 1997 Mike and Andy were made partners in the firm, then known as Plymale and Associates. Since 1997 the firm has made a concentrated effort to not only assist Ohioans but also educate the citizens regarding their rights. The firm has engaged in sending free brochures, upon request, outlining one’s legal rights after an automobile accident. Lawyers in the firm have been speakers at seminars and written articles on various topics pertaining to issues that affect our clients and the general public alike. Our attorneys have also been guest speakers at local high schools to discuss the dangers of drinking and driving. All of this has been conducted at the firm’s expense, both in time and in money. All of these activities have been undertaken with the hope of helping to educate Ohioans.

In addition to continuing the goal of educating the public about legal rights and young drivers of the dangers associated with operating an automobile, the attorneys have distinguished themselves within the legal community. Attorneys on our staff have gained professional recognition including membership in the Million Dollar Forum, Certification by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, designation as a Super Lawyer by Cincinnati Monthly and induction into the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers Trial College Hall of Fame.

The firm changed the name to Cecil & Geiser, LLP in 2009. Since 2003, Mike and Andy have been the managing partners. Both continue to represent clients as well as work with the associates of the firm. Located in Columbus, Ohio the law firm of Cecil & Geiser LLP continues to represent only injured persons and concentrates on serious personal injury claims.
